Brashear scored eight first inning runs and powered to a 15-2 win in five innings over Bucklin/Macon County at Brashear. The September 28, 2021 contest was part of the Brashear High School Senior Night. Brandon Jochimsen, Lane Stutsman and Jace Snelling were honored along with their parents.
Carson Erwin started off the eight run first inning with a double. Jace Snelling tripled Erwin home for the game’s first run. Brandon Jochimsen hit a two run home run for a 3-0 lead.
Lane Stutsman homered to right field. John Higgins singled to center field. Avery Zentz drew a walk from Bulldog hurler Lucas Herriman. Lucas Keller drove John Higgins home with a base hit for a 5-0 Tiger lead.
Carson Erwin batted the second time in the first inning. Erwin hit a three run homer for an eight run Brashear lead. Lane Stutsman led off the Brashear second inning with another home run for a 9-0 Tiger lead.
Garrett Carman drove home a Bulldog run with a groundout in the top of the fourth inning. Clay Coffman scored the other Bulldog run on an error. Jace Snelling drew a bases loaded walk for a 10-2 Brashear lead.
Brandon Jochimsen drove Jack Reeves home with a ground ball for an 11-2 lead. Lane Stutsman hit a grand slam home run with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning for a 15-2 Brashear lead.
Brashear scored 15 runs on 13 hits. Carson Erwin and Lane Stutsman were 3-3 with three runs scored each. Erwin had a home run and drove in three runs. Lane Stutsman hit three home runs and had six RBI’s. Brandon Jochimsen was 2-4 with two runs scored and three batted in. Jochimsen hit a Brashear home run.
Brandon Jochimsen pitched five innings with nine strikeouts on two hits and two walks.
Bucklin/Macon County scored two runs on three hits. Lucas Herriman pitched three and a third innings with four walks, four strikeouts and 12 hits. All 13 runs charged to the Bulldog starter were earned.
Adiden McNeil pitched 2/3 of an inning for the Bulldogs. McNeil allowed two runs on one hit.
