Salisbury scored five first inning runs and powered to an 11-1 win in five innings during September 27, 2021 Lewis and Clark Conference softball play at Salisbury. The Lady Panthers are defending Class 1 softball runners up from the 2020 season.
Jaden Howard and Cayden Stapleton slammed RBI doubles keying the first inning rally. Julia Sloan doubled for Salisbury in the opening frame. Daniela Dooley singled off Panther hurler Jaden Howard but was stranded on third base.
Salisbury out two more runs on the board in their second inning. Khloe Wyatt and J Jaden Howard reached base on fielder’s choices and later scored. Addi Wales singled leading off the Panther second inning.
Knox County scored their lone run in the fifth inning. Abby Becker led off reaching on an error. Becker moved up on a wild pitch and a passed ball. Jen Hinkle lofted a sacrifice fly to right field scoring Becker. Salisbury led 7-1 entering the bottom of the sixth inning.
Two one out errors opened the door for a four run Panther rally. Addi Wales singled. Jaden Howard slammed a two run game ending double. Salisbury scored 11 runs on eight hits.
Addi Wales was 3-4 for Salisbury with two runs scored and another batted in. Jaden Howard was 2-4 with four runs batted in. Cayden Stapleton was 2-2 with two runs batted in.
Jaden Howard was the winning pitcher striking out five with no walks on four hits and one unearned run.
Knox County scored one run on six hits. Daniela Dooley and Taylor Walker were 2-3 each. Agnes Reel allowed four runs on three hits and one walk. Daniela Dooley pitched five and a third innings with one walk and one strikeout on five hits. Three of the seven runs charged to Dooley were earned.
