Brashear scored in each of the opening three innings of their October 7, 2021 non-conference home softball game with Green City (4-9) and went on to a 10-2 win. Aubrey Borgmeyer hit a first inning Lady Tiger home run. Celeste Athon singled with two out in the Gopher first inning but was stranded.
Sierra Snyder reached base on an error leading off the bottom of the second inning. Lana VanSickle doubled putting Tiger runners on second and third base with nobody out.
Kynleigh White grounded out to Cyerra Ballinger at third base. Snyder scored for a two run Brashear lead. Cassidy Althide drove VanSickle home with an RBI single for a 3-0 Tiger lead after two complete innings.
Green City went down in order in the top of the third inning. Aubrey Borgmeyer reached Lady Gopher hurler Maddie Lunsford for a hit leading off the bottom half of inning three.
Lacey Fisher stroked a one out single. Haley McNamar reached on an error, scoring Aubrey Borgmeyer for a 4-0 Tiger lead. Sierra Snyder doubled McNamar and Fisher home for a 6-0 Brashear advantage after three complete innings.
Olivia Morris led off the Green City fourth inning by reaching base on an error. Celeste Athon singled. Paige Pialet doubled Morris home, putting Green City on the board. The Lady Gophers had runners on second and third base with nobody out.
Alexa Borgmeyer struck out two batters then induced a ground ball to Lacey Fisher for the final out. Brashear held a 6-1 lead after four full innings. Kynleigh White and Sierra Snyder doubled in the Brashear fifth inning. Snyder scored for an 8-1 Tiger lead after five innings.
Aubrey Borgmeyer doubled with one out in the Tiger sixth. Alexa Borgmeyer reached base on an error. Lacey Fisher doubled both runners home for a 10-1 Brashear lead heading into the last inning of play.
Kadence King singled with two out in the Gopher seventh inning. Maddie Lunsford drove King home for the 10-2 score. Olivia Morris singled, loading the bases with two down.
Haley McNamar fielded a ground ball then fired to Aubrey Borgmeyer for the final out. Green City scored two runs on eight hits. Olivia Morris was 2-4 for Green City with a run scored. Celeste Athon went 2-4 at bat. Kadence King was 2-3 for the Lady Gophers with a run scored.
Maddie Lunsford struck out four with one walk on 11 hits. Five of the ten Brashear runs were earned.
Brashear (8-10) scored ten runs on 11 hits. Aubrey Borgmeyer was 3-4 with three runs scored and one batted in. Lacey Fisher was 3-4 with a run scored and two batted in. Sierra Snyder was 2-4 with three runs scored and two RBI’s.
Alexa Borgmeyer struck out 14 batters with no walks on eight hits. Both Gopher runs were unearned. Brashear stranded four runners. Green City left seven runners on base.
