ALLEN KEITH “CASEY” BARNHILL
Allen Keith “Casey” Barnhill, 66, of Baring, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at his residence at the Baring Country Club near Baring, Missouri.
Casey was born on July 14, 1955, in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Elwood Leon and Betty Laurine Henry Barnhill.
He was a graduate of Knox County High School in the Class of 1973. Two years later Casey married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Kay Frye, on January 2, 1975 in Hurdland, Missouri, and they celebrated forty-six years together.
He served his country in the United States Army from 1973 to 1976. He worked for Donaldson’s, Wire Rope, and his last job he enjoyed the most, was as Caretaker at the Baring Country Club near Baring, Missouri for 18 years.
Casey enjoyed racing, painting cars, repairing cars, hunting, fishing and offering pontoon rides to anyone who asked. He will be remembered by his orneriness, as a jack of all trades, always helping anyone at the lake, day or night, always entertaining on his deck at the club house and later at his cabin. He was always ready to welcome you with a beer and a story.
He appeared at first look, to be rough and tough but inside he was soft and caring to everyone he met. He touched many lives at the Baring Lake, from lifeguards, members, board members, to the kids of the community. Most of all he loved his wife, Sandy; his kids, grandkids, and family always supporting them in their lives.
Casey is survived by his wife, Sandy of Baring, Missouri; a daughter, Charity Miller and her husband Patrick of Memphis, Missouri; a son, Jason Barnhill and his wife Becky of Edina, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cailey Winstead and her husband Tim, Paige Bishop, Saylor Barnhill and Jett Barnhill; four sisters, Vicky Taboada and her husband Joe of El Paso, Texas, Donna Moots and her husband Glen of Hurdland, Missouri, Sandy Jones of Kirksville, Missouri, and Janice Stewart of Kansas City, Missouri; mother-in-law, Minnie Sykes of Memphis, Missouri; a step brother, Luther Green of Hurdland, Missouri; three half siblings, Rosanne, Jody, and Abby; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
