IRMA K. MARTIN
Irma K. Martin, age 81, of Rutledge, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at her residence surrounded by family.
Irma was born on July 15, 1940, in East Earl, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Phares M. and Lena B. Kurtz Huber.
On September 24, 1960 Irma married David B. Martin and to this union eleven children were born.
Irma and David left Pennsylvania and moved to Knox County, Missouri, in 1974, to farm and raise their family.
She was a Member of the Millport Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference, south of Rutledge, Missouri.
Irma is survived by eleven children, Loretta and her husband Paul Wesley Oberholtzer of Loyal, Wisconsin, Laura and her husband Nevin Martin of Memphis, Missouri, Erla and her husband John Abram Martin of Milton, Iowa, Marlene and her husband Lynnford Oberholtzer of Rutledge, Missouri, Mervin and his wife Irene Martin of Gorin, Missouri, Leonard and his wife Rhoda Martin of Memphis, Missouri, Clair and his wife Mary Joyce Martin of Gorin, Missouri, Vernon and his wife Anna Mae Martin of Rutledge, Missouri, Eleanor and her husband Earl Lamar Martin of Memphis, Missouri, David Eugene and his wife Lisa Martin of Memphis, Missouri, and Sara Ann Martin of the home in Rutledge, Missouri; seventy-nine grandchildren; forty-six great grandchildren; a brother, Christian Huber of Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania; four sisters, Martha and Marian Huber both of Terre Hill, Pennsylvania, Sara Ann and Paul Weaver of Myerstown, Pennsylvania, and Laura and Enos Showalter of South Wayne, Wisconsin and three sisters-in-law, Emma Huber, Mary Huber, Esther Huber; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was loved and will be sadly missed by her family.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband, David B. Martin; parents, Phares and Lena Huber; five brothers, Lloyd, Melvin, Phares, John David and Martin Huber; four sisters, Mary Huber, Elva Huber, Esther Weaver, and Anna Huber; two grandsons, Jeffery and Devin Martin, and a son-in-law, John David Martin.
Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the Millport Mennonite Church, south of Rutledge, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center, South of Memphis, Missouri, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
Officiating will be Abner Oberholtzer, Calvin Hoover, Carl Hoover, Earl Oberholtzer and Jason Burkholder. Casket Bearers will be Daryl Oberholtzer, Dennis Martin, Joshua Martin, Clifford Oberholtzer, Verlin Martin and Derlyn Martin.
