Marceline hit outside shots early on in their February 15, 2022 conference girls’ game at Knox County. The Lady Tigers grabbed a 17-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. Knox County battled back, pulling within six points in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Tigers rebounded well and took advantage of KCHS turnovers to build their lead back to double digits for a 53-40 win. Marceline led 29-17 at halftime.
Brianna Miller sank a three pointer for a 49-40 Marceline advantage with 5:44 in the fourth quarter. Knox County battled back against the taller Marceline front line within a 46-40 score with 5:39 to play in the game.
Marceline (10-14) was able to hit some of their inside shots. Addyson Huber scored for a 48-40 lead with 3:23 to play in the fourth quarter. Natalee Pennington sank a momentum shifting three pointer with three minutes remaining.
Marceline led 51- 40. The Lady Tigers prevailed by a 53-40 final score. Senior Eliana Pullium was honored along with Senior Band, Cheerleaders and Boys Basketball players between games.
Addison Huber led all scorers with 20 Tiger points. Natalee Pennington was in double digits with 13 Marceline points. Avery Gillman and Ramzee Bruner added eight points each.
Brianna Miller and Jen Hinkle scored 16 Knox County points each. Savannah Schrage put in five points. Abby Becker and Kambryn Miller added two points each.
