Brashear (10-16) upended fourth seeded Atlanta (12-13) by a final score of 45-43 in the first round of the Class 1, District 11 girls’ basketball tournament at LaPlata. Kynleigh White scored 17 points. Lacey Fisher scored eight points. Cassidy Althide added seven points.
Brashear plays top seeded Marion County on Tuesday, February 22 in girl’s championship semifinal action. The fourth seeded Brashear boys will play fifth seed Marion County in the Monday, February 21, 2022 championship semifinal round.
The winner of the Brashear vs. Marion County first round contest takes on top seeded North Shelby on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 in the boy’s championship semifinal round at 6PM.
The La Plata District 11 Tournament girl’s first round was played on Saturday, February 19. Second seeded North Shelby downed Bevier 67-33. Third seed La Plata eliminated Novinger by an 81-18 margin.
North Shelby will challenge La Plata in a 7:15PM tip district semifinal game on February 22. The La Plata girls District championship game is scheduled for Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 6PM.
