Brasher lost to No. 1 seed North Shelby in the Class 1 District 11 semi-final game Wednesday, February 23, 2022. The Raiders won 73-44.
The Raiders took an 8-2 lead within four minutes. JD Rich scored 11 of the 13 points NS had in the first six minutes.
Brashear’s Carson Erwin claimed seven of the nine points the Tigers had in the quarter. Senior Brandon Jochimsen scored two. NS led 15-9.
Jochimsen hit a 3-pointer within nine seconds and Jack Reeves tied things up with a three. Erwin gave Brashear its first lead after scoring from beyond the arc.
Lucas Keller scored, and the Tigers held a 3-point lead. North Shelby’s Brendyn McDaniel went 2-for-2 from the FT line. A steal was made by North Shelby’s Carson Orr, and he was good two. NS took the lead back, 21-20. McDaniel gave NS a three-point lead after he was good for two. Keller hit a three and the game was tied, 23-23.
North Shelby’s Landon Bender hit a three and NS held the three-point advantage. At the half, NS had a 32-26 lead.
Brashear was outscored in the third period 29-8. The Tigers tallied 10 points in the final period.
The Tigers were led by Erwin with 18 and Jochimsen with 14.
