Shirley A Hysell, age 81, formerly of Edina, Missouri, passed away May 4, 2022, in Glendale Arizona.

Shirley was born to Henry and Vada (Fetters) Dagenhart in Aledo, Illinois on August 28, 1940.

She attend Kirk School south of Edina and graduated in the Class of 1958 in Long Beach, California.

When Shirley was a young child, she moved with her family from Aledo to south of Edina, Missouri, where she helped with the family farm. After high school she came back to Missouri where Shirley worked at the glove factory and owned operated a local establishment called The Hillbilly Bar. After retiring, she moved in with her daughter and resided in numerous states before the final residency in Arizona, where she loved the heat.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Jeana Hysell and Anita, of El Mirage Arizona; grandchildren, Ben (Laura) Munoz and Michaela Munoz of Phoenix Arizona, Brady (Courtney) Poggendorf and Jackie (Marcus) Thomas of Surprise Arizona; three great-grandchildren, Jack Poggendorf, Hunter and Blakeley Thomas; and special great niece, Meagan Farris, who she called Grandma Shirley, of El Mirage Arizona. Shirley is also survived by sisters, June Webb of Central Point, Oregon, Mary Willis of Novinger, Missouri, Nancy (Bob) Winchell of Kingman Arizona, Noreen (Gene) Farris of Edina, Missouri, and numerous nephews, nieces as well great-nephew and nieces; great-great nephew and nieces; and sister-in-law, Sue Dagenhart of St. Charles, Missouri.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Vada; three sisters, Lois Ausmus, Dorothy Payne, Linda Bowen; and two brothers, John and Donnie Wayne Dagenhart. Several brothers-in-law, Ed (Scotty) Ausmus, Larry Webb, Bill Willis; and sister in-law, Anna Mae Dagenhart; two nieces, Debbie Willis and Donna Farris.

Palm Valley Funeral Home of Sun City Arizona will be handling Shirley’s request cremation.
