The Lewis County C-I School District has announced the hiring of Caleb Arnsman as their head varsity football coach for the 2022-23 school year. Caleb Arnsman replaces David Degarmo who will remain at Highland as an assistant Principal.
Coach Arnsman has been a member of the Highland High School faculty since the 2017-18 school year. He taught personal finance and computers. Arnsman has been a member of the Highland football coaching staff since accepting his teaching position at Highland.
Caleb Arnsman has been an offensive coordinator at Highland and the defensive coordinator since 2020. He graduated from Unity of Mendon High School in Illinois in 2008. Arnsman attended Culver-Stockton College on a football scholarship, graduating in 2013.
Caleb Arnsman previously taught at Clark County High School since 2013. He served as a Social Studies teacher at Clark County and was the offensive and defensive line coach as well as Special Teams Coordinator at Clark County.
“We are excited to have Coach Arnsman as the next leader in our football program,” Highland Athletic Director Ben Buening said in a May 16, 2022 Press Release from the District.
“Caleb has grown tremendously as a coach and teacher since hie was hired five years ago,” Buening said. It is exciting to see him get his opportunity as a head coach here at Highland.”
“I am excited to be taking over this program that I have had the honor to help build,” Caleb Arnsman said. “I am ready to get started and continue moving our program forward. Thank you to the Lewis County Board of Education and the Administration for giving me this opportunity.”
