LAWINA LEE “TIKE” HARLOW
Lawina Lee “Tike” Harlow, age 89, of Edina, Missouri, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great grandmother, passed peacefully and went to be with Jesus her Savior, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
She was born in Hannibal, Missouri, on December 13, 1932, the daughter of Clifford Franklin and Hazel Lee Sparks Barr.
She was united in marriage to John Nelson Harlow on December 26, 1951, in Hannibal, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on April 23, 2008. Tike was also preceded in death by her parents, one son John Dennis Harlow and one brother Clifford Eugene Barr.
Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Lynn (Mark) Solari of Manchester, MO, and Catherine Sue (Scott) Moore of Charleston, IL; a daughter-in-law, Patty Harlow of Kirksville, MO; six granddaughters, Jill (Pete) Peleuses of Leland, NC, Sarah (Jay) Thakur of Chesterfield, MO, Kelly (Adam) Bozzi of Arlington, VA, Leesa (Jeff) Abell of Waynesville OH, Christa (Johnathan) Walker of St. Louis, MO, and Laura (Andrew) Reinert of Springfield, IL; three step grandchildren, Kim (Jerry) Wetzel, Holly (Jimmy) Westmoreland, Billy (Denae) Murrell; great grandchildren, Cole and Nash Peleuses, Dominic and Emilia Bozzi, Sasha, Devin and Daya Thakur, Zoe and Logan Walker, Theo and Hayden Reinert; step great-grandchildren, Collin and Cecily Coffman, Claire, Cloie, Cambree and Carrigan Murrell and Carson Westmoreland, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tike was a member of the Edina First Christian Church where she had served as board member and treasurer, long time member of the Elizabeth Barrett Browning Club, worked with the girl scouts as a troop leader and local day camp director, local finance chairman and member of the Becky Thatcher Board. In earlier years, Tike was employed at North Side Cleaners, Sears Catalog Store in Edina, and Telephone operator in Hannibal for eleven years. Tike was an avid reader, enjoyed working puzzles, playing the piano, bird watching and visiting with friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Arbors and the Knox County Nursing Home for their excellent care.
Visitation will be held in the Hudson- Rimer Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 12th at 10 a.m. with funeral services will following at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Grand View Memorial Gardens in Hannibal, MO. Pastor Paul Harvey will officiate the services.
Casket bearers will be Kenny Cooper, Kirk Rourke, Alan Dixson, David Hamlin, Johnathan Walker and Jay Thakur.
