ELIZABETH JANE SHUTTS

Elizabeth Jane Shutts, age 92, of Knox City, MO, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

She was born April 7, 1930, in Knox County, MO, the daughter of Raymond G. and Gertrude Gladys Tull Hays.

She was united in marriage to Lyman Knowles Shutts on August 26, 1949, in Columbia, MO, and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2006. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her parents and four sisters: Helen Lay, Blanche Likes, Roxie Clapp, and Margaret Lay.

Surviving are: one son, Charles Lyman Shutts of LaBelle, MO, two daughters, Jane Ann Gelbach (Mike) of Kirksville, MO, Leigh Louise Kampschmidt (Don) of Carrollton, MO; four grandchildren: Russell Gelbach (Jody), Luke Kampschmidt (Carrie), Dylan Gelbach (Tori), and Krystal Samples (Kyle); five great-grandchildren: Ava, Kaley, Parker, Penny, and Lennon; one sister-in-law, Mary Enid Eoff of Cedar Rapids, IA, along with several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth graduated from LaBelle High School. She and her husband were engaged in farming in the Knox City and LaBelle area for many years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, quilts and quilting, sewing, and gardening.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the LaBelle Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle is handling arrangements.
