LaBelle, MO – Friday, September 9, 2022 – A vehicle crashed into the south facing dining room wall of the LaBelle Manor Care Center on Friday morning, according to the nursing home administrator Kelli Strange Pinson. No one was injured inside or outside of the building during the crash.
“There were people in the room. None of them were in harms way,” LaBelle Manor Care Administrator Kelli Strange Pinson told The Edina Sentinel.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m. when a visitor arrived at the nursing home. The visitor apparently thought their vehicle was in park and accidentally pressed the accelerator before crashing into the wall, said Strange.
The vehicle, a four-door sedan, broke through a post, destroyed a nearby flower planter, and collided with the wall causing exterior and interior damage to the wall.
The administrator reported the crash did not cause any interruptions to gas, water or electric services to the nursing home, and a construction consultant has been called in to assess the damage to the wall.
Emergency responders from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, Ambulance District and Fire Department responded to the call.
