Defending Sectional Champion Green City was seeded first for the November 28-December 3, 2022 Novinger Varsity Basketball Tournament. The Lady Gophers drew the fourth seed. Green City will play the fourth seeded Grundy County/Newtown-Harris girls coop at 4:30PM Tuesday evening in the first round.
Green City’s boys start off Novinger Tournament play on Monday, November 28 at 4:30PM. Novinger is the second seeded girls’ team. Third seeded Brashear plays the Kirksville JV in first round girls play on Tuesday night at 7:10PM.
Fourth seeded Brashear plays their first Novinger Tournament game of 2022 vs. fifth seeded Novinger with an 8:10PM start. Third seeded Grundy County/Newtown-Harris plays the Kirksville JV boys on Tuesday, at 5:50PM in first round play.
First round winning teams will play their championship semifinal games on Thursday, December 1 beginning at 4:30PM. If any team is defeated in the first round, they will play on Wednesday, November 30.
The 2022 Novinger Tournament does not have seventh place games. Consolation championship games are scheduled for Friday, December 2 beginning with the girls fifth place game at 4:30PM.
The boy’s fifth place game starts at 6PM on Friday. Girl’s third place is scheduled to be decided Friday night at 7:30PM.
