Brashear and Atlanta played a relatively even first half in their December 16, 2022 Tri-County Conference meeting at Brashear. Heidi Lay and Lacey Fisher scored late in the first half for a 24-19 Tiger lead with 20 seconds in the first half.
Aislynn Baker fired in a Hornet three with five second in the second quarter for a 24-21 halftime score. Baker’s home run ball was the start of a decisive stretch of 23 unanswered points for a 20-5 Hornet third quarter run to a 41-29 lead.
Sylvia Christensen scored a game high 16 Atlanta points for a 48-40 Atlanta win. Lacey Fisher led Brashear with 14 points. Brashear turned the ball over and suffered through a cold snap from the field during most of the third quarter. Atlanta had good perimeter scoring during their red hot third period.
Brashear (2-6) came on at the end of the game. The Lady Tigers had turnovers at inopportune moments during the early portion of the fourth quarter. Brashear cracked off a 9-1 run to a 45-40 deficit on Tayla Garlock’s bucket with 55 seconds to play in the game.
Aislyn Baker sank two Hornet free throws for a 47-40 lead with 41 ticks on the game clock. The Lady Tigers missed a three point try. Baker sank another free throw for a 48-40 score with 15 seconds to play.
Another Brashear turnover sealed the Lady Tiger fate. Aislyn Baker scored 15 Atlanta points. Bailey Watson added eight Atlanta points.
Cassidy Althide scored eight Brashear points. Heidi Lay tossed in seven points. Tayla Garlock scored four points. Paige Stutsman scored three points. Aubrey Borgmeyer and Bevyn March added two Tiger points each.
