Marion County took a 15-9 lead during their January 3, 2023 varsity boy’s game with Brashear. The Tigers (8-8) answered the bell with a 14-5 run for a 23-20 halftime advantage.
Brashear started the second half strong and held on for a 62-57 win. The Tigers outscored Marion County (7-8) 19-13 in the third quarter for a 42-33 lead. Marion County fired in nine three balls on the night to a pair of Tiger home run balls.
Brashear sank 12 of 19 free throws. Marion County was 3-7 at the line. Brashear went to the rack, sinking 22 field goals to 12 for Marion County.
Jackson Steward scored a game high Mustang points. Wyatt Goldinger scored 12. Porter Britt put in 11 Marion County points. Joey Lageman scored seven Mustang points.
Jack Reeves led Brashear with 19 points. Cole Erwin tossed in 16 points. Lucas Keller and Avery Zentz scored nine points each. Carson Erwin scored seven points. Landon Fisher added two Tiger points.
