Tigers Surge in Second Half For Win Over North Missouri Knights

The North Missouri Knights Home School Association boys’ basketball team took a three point first half lead in January 5, 2023 varsity boy’s action at Brashear. The Tigers pounded the ball in the lane, overtaking a very good offensive Knights ball club for a 74-66 win.
The Knights are one of the better perimeter scoring boy’s teams this reporter has witnessed this season. Four Knights fired in nine three pointers on the evening Brashear answered with four home run balls.
The Tigers (8-8) put in 24 field goals to 16 for the Knights. Brashear got to the free throw line. The Tigers sank 14-22 from the stripe. The Knights put in 7-14 from the free throw line.
Brashear took a 17-15 first quarter lead. The Knights responded with a22-17 second quarter run to a 37-34 halftime lead. Brashear came back with a 25-16 third quarter burst for a 59-53 lead heading to the fourth quarter.
The Tigers matched the Knights with a 15-13 fourth quarter burst for the 74-66 win. Brashear outscored the Knights 40-29 in the second half.
Carson Erwin led all scorers with 35 Brashear points. Cole Erwin fired in 16 points. Lucas Keller was in double digits with 11 points. Avery Zentz scored six points. Landon Fisher put in four and Alex Houghton added two Tiger points.
Clay Bond led the Knights with 21 points. Cole Johnson tossed in 14 points. Tate Johnson scored 11 points. Levi Remole was the fourth Knight in double figures with 12 points.
