Harl “Tom” Thomas Harsell, 70, of Bessemer City, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri. 

Tom was born on December 27, 1952, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of George Thomas and Mary Francis Osbourn Harsell. 

He attended Clark County, Missouri schools and graduated from the Kahoka High School in the Class of 1970. 

On January 6, 1973, in La Grange, Missouri, Tom married Cynthia “Cindy” Boyer and to this union four children were born. 

He worked in La Grange for Gardener- Denver, Gulley Transport, and got on with Local #513 Union in Hannibal, Missouri. 

Tom moved to North Carolina and got certified as a tower crane operator for the Local #917 and retired in 2014. 

On February 14, 1996, in Bessemer, North Carolina, Tom married Linda Patrick and she preceded him in death on August 8, 2016. 

He returned to Kirksville, Missouri recently after his health failed. 

Tom is survived by two sons, Thomas and Tammy Harsell of Baring, Missouri and Robby Harsell and his significate companion Katie of Brashear, Missouri; a daughter, Tamara and Ron Veach of Queen City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Katelyn and Ryan Burkholder, Brett Harsell and his significate other, Khaleah, Brittany Harsell and her significate other, Tristan Poor, Emma Harsell and Brayden Harsell; and two great grandchildren, Clara and Meredith Harsell. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Terry Harsell; his wife, Linda Harsell; and an aunt and uncle, Francis Harsell and Ed Coney who raised Tom. 

At his request, Tom was cremated and a private family graveside will be at a later date at the Neeper Cemetery in rural Clark County, Missouri.
