Two Edina teenagers collided on Highway 15 and East Smallwood St. in Edina on Wednesday afternoon, May 10, 2023.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:42 p.m.
Brandon Walton, 18, was northbound on Highway 15 on a 2004 Honda 250 motorcycle when he crashed into the rear driver’s side door of a 2012 Nissan Altima being driven by a 16-year-old.
The vehicle was making a left turn onto the highway from E. Smallwood St., and pulled into the path of Walton.
Walton was ejected from the motorcycle landing in a nearby ditch. He suffered serous injuries in the crash, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
A bystander saw the crash and called emergency responders to the scene right away.
The parents of both teens were also called to the scene.
Walton was transported to the University of Missouri Hospital by helicopter. He was released the following day.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Edina Police Department, MSHP, Knox County Ambulance District, City of Edina, and Air Evac Team responded to the call.
