The NEMOnews Media Group family of newspapers spread across Northeast Missouri have grown by one, the Shelbina Weekly, following the sale of the local newspaper by brothers Thad and Mark Requet to Mike and Sue Scott.
The weekly will be combined with the Shelby County Herald, and Mark Requet will stay on as a reporter for the local news outlet covering Shelbina and the Shelby County R-IV School District. He is a veteran journalist with 24 years of experience in local news and sports coverage.
“We’re excited to have Mark join us,” said Scott. “And we wish Thad all the best in his future endeavors.”
“I’ve been in the newspaper business for 29 years. It’s been a blessing for me to be able to have this job in my home community for so many years, not just my time at the Weekly, but the seven years prior at the Shelby County Herald,” said Thad Requet.
