Knox County threatened to run away with their September 5, 2023 varsity softball game at Marion County. The Lady Eagles banged out eighth hits in their first four innings for an 11-6 lead.
Marion County took advantage of Knox County fielding errors to put 11 runs on the board. Knox County (1-3) scored four times in their fifth inning and threatened in the seventh for a 12-11 KCHS win.
Kennedy Parrish was strong in the circle, striking out 12 Lady Mustangs. Freshman Brynn Schwieter had a good game at the plate, going 4-4 at bat with three RBI’s and two runs scored.
Knox County scored 12 runs on 15 hits. Myleigh Miller, Kennedy Parrish, Shalee Zuccarini and Abby Becker put up two hits each. All but one KCHS batter had at least one hit.
Abby Becker drove in three Lady Eagle runs. Becker drove in a run or more in each of her first three at bats. Mylee Myers and Kennedy Hathaway pitched for Marion County.
Knox County was charged with eight errors. Marion County scored ten runs on two hits.
