FRANCIS MONROE KLOTE
Francis Monroe Klote, age 91, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in St. Charles, Missouri.
Francis was born June 3, 1932, in Edina, Missouri, the son of Lawrence Aloysius and Goldie Carmaleta Goodwin Klote.
He was married in 1952 to Barbara Jean Williams. To this union four children were born. In 1984, he was married to Judith E. Campbell, and she preceded him in death in 2021.
Francis graduated from Edina High School in 1950 and graduated from University of Florida, Tallahassee with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Francis served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1950 to 1955.
After the service Francis was employed in Florida building advanced radar systems. In the early 1960’s he moved to St. Louis, MO, where he was employed with McDonald Aircraft building Gemini, Mercury, and Apollo space programs. He then moved to Plano, TX, where he continued his career in communications. After his retirement he enjoyed time dancing in Texas, farming in Edina and spending time with his family. Francis was a member of the First Christian Church in Plano, TX and Edina, MO. He was very active in his beloved Church in Plano, studying the Bible along with his dear friends that felt like family to him.
Surviving are three children, Douglas and Kathy Klote of Baring, MO, Jeff and Christine Klote of Ft. Worth, TX, and Alesia and David Magruder of Jackson, TN; nine grandchildren, Ashley Woodruff and Ben, Logan McKinney and Maeghan, Emily Pyfrom and Trae, Ryan Tarvydas and Abby, Michael Hess, Brian and Kerri Hess, Cheyanne Baxter and Johnathan, Jeffrey Magruder, Taylor Magruder and River New; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Roseanne Klote from Edina, MO.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Roberta Klote Hess; one brother, Jerome Klote; one sister, Mary Margaret Dewey; and one grandchild, Richard Tarvydas II.
Visitation and Funeral services were held Saturday, November 11, 2023, in the Hudson- Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Pastor Paul Harvey will officiate the services. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO. Casket bearers will be Logan McKinney, Trae Pyfrom, Ben Woodruff, Tony Klote, Ryan Tarvydas and Don Hess.
