Brashear Girls Win 95th Annual Brashear Tournament Championship. Knights Take Boys First Place

Brashear (11-8) defended well and reeled off a decisive 14-4 fourth quarter run, winning the girls championship of the 9-5th Annual Brashear Tournament. The February 5-10, 2024 tournament saw Aubrey Borgmeyer lead all scorers in the girls championship game with 21 points in a 55-35 win over the North Missouri Knights.
The lady Tigers qualified for the first place game with a 59-51 overtime win with Novinger (9-12) in the semifinal round. Cassidy Althide sent the game to overtime with a three pointer late in the fourth quarter.
Brashear downed Bevier 68-17 in girls first round play. Lacey Fisher scored her 1,000th career point during the opening round contest.
Marion County topped Novinger by a 36-32 final score in the girls third place game. Atlanta downed the Canton JV girls by a 47-32 margin the boys consolation championship game.
The top seeded North Missouri Knights overpowered Atlanta by a 61-37 final in the boys championship game. Cole Johnson scored a game high 18 points for the Knights. Tate Johnson put in 14 and Levi Remole was in double figures with 13 points. JJ White led Atlanta with 12 points.
The Kirksville JV took third place with a 54-48 win over Brashear in the boys bracket. Marion County bested the Canton JV 64-36 for the boys consolation Championship.
Brashear downed Novinger 61-30 in the first round. Tiger senior Carson Erwin scored his 1500th career point. The Knights got past Brashear 95-49 in the boys semifinal round.
