Green City (13-2, 5-0, Ranked fifth in Boys Class 1) doubled the score on Brashear in the first quarter of their January 25, 2024 rescheduled Tri-County Conference game at Green City and powered to an 86-46 win.
Asher Buggs-Tipton poured in a game high 30 Gopher points. Xander Salas fired in 25 Green City points. Kaden Hatcher tossed in nine points. Noah Tipton and Ian Littrell tallied six points each. Jaden O’Haver added two Green City points.
Brashear (7-5, 2-3) attacked the Green City defense, drawing enough fouls to go 19-28 from the free throw line. Green City outscored the Tigers 36-12 in terms of made field goals.
Green City led 25-10 after the first quarter. The Gophers turned in a consistent performance, outscoring Brashear 22-14 in the second quarter for a 47-24 halftime lead. The home team reeled off a 23-14 third quarter run for a 70-38 three quarter pole advantage.
Green City was 2-8 from the free throw line and tallied four three balls. Carson Erwin hit the lone Tiger three ball in the third quarter. Carson Erwin led Brashear with 25 points. Jack Reeves scored 13 Tiger points. Cole Erwin was in double figures with ten points. Levi Clark added two Brashear points.
