We are proud to announce that a new committee, Knox County Wreaths Across America, has adopted the Wreaths Across America community service project, and will continue honoring those who have served in Knox County, beginning in the new year.
“After reading about the retirement of the Novelty Senior Center ladies, who have been honoring those who have served since 2016,” says Crystal Murr, “We knew that this project could not come to an end.”
The newly formed committee includes Susan Chaffee, Crystal Murr, and veterans, David Fagin, and Angela Wilson, all community volunteers who see the value of honoring our Veterans by the placement of wreaths on their graves or at their cemetery during the holiday season. Their goal is to place a wreath on every Veteran’s resting place in the years ahead, by continuing the hard work and dedication of the previous committee.
“With their help, we hope to make the transition as smooth as possible, starting with the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony on Saturday, December 14 at the Novelty Christian Church,” adds Chaffee.
Wreaths will be available for purchase at the ceremony and watch for more opportunities to donate as fundraising will begin in the new year.
For more information, contact Crystal Murr at knoxcountywreaths acrossamerica@gmail. com or contact Sue Chaffee at 660-397-2179 to purchase wreaths or to make a donation. Donations may also be mailed to 110 N 4th Street, Edina, MO 63537.
