KC Eagles Down Coyotes

Blake Shahan helped Knox County take advantage of a five error Paris third inning during April 11, 2025 varsity baseball play at Knox County. The Eagles (1- 5) picked up their first win of the season with a 4-2 conference victory over Paris.
The Coyotes (2-3) scored the game’s first run in the top of the third inning. Luke Ensor stroked a one out single off Knox County hurler Nate Penn. Kaden Graupman drew a base on balls.
Carrsen Hayes threw the Coyote lead runner out attempting to steal for the second out of the inning. Brad Skinner put the ball in play, drawing errors resulting in a 1-0 Paris lead after two and a half innings.
The Coyote infield struggled to field ground balls in the Knox County third inning. Blake Shahan had the lone base hit of a four run frame. Knox County led by a 4-1 margin after three complete innings.
Chase Kendrick singled leading off the Paris fourth frame. Payden Crain doubled Kendrick home for a 4-2 margin. The Eagle defense retired the next three Paris batters in order, stranding Crain on third base.
Both teams had runners in scoring position in their final at bat but failed to score. Landon McCarty caught a line drive in right field for the final out of the 4-2 Knox County win.
Knox County scored four runs on six hits. Nate Penn pitched a complete seven inning game for the win. Penn struck out two with one walk on five hits. One of the Paris runs was earned.
Paris scored twice on five hits. Luke Ensor was 2-4 at bat. Ensor struck out ten Knox County batters on six hits with no walks.
