BARING, Mo. – Two teenage girls were injured Friday evening when the pickup truck they were traveling in ran off the road and struck a tree east of Baring, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:35 p.m. on Dexter Avenue, about one mile east of Baring on Friday, May 30, 2025.
A 17-year-old girl from Edina was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger southbound when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway and hit a tree, troopers said. The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate injuries.
A 16-year-old female passenger from Novelty was also moderately injured. Authorities said she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Both teens were transported by Knox County Ambulance to Northeast Regional Hospital in Kirksville for treatment.
The truck was totaled and towed from the scene by Hunter’s Wrecker. The Baring Fire Department and Trooper Snyder assisted at the scene.
