The Knox County Chamber of Commerce is mixing things up this year for their annual Christmas Extravaganza, thanks in large part to the input of the area business community who asked for more space between the shopping events and the traditional visits from Santa.
This year, on Saturday, November 1, a vendor event will be held in the Knox County Community Center from 10am to 5pm. This event is designed to feature and promote area artisans and their specialty items in time to kick-off the Christmas shopping and encourage shopping local.
The fee to be a vendor at the event is $25 to register and $15 for additional tables up to a total of three tables per business.
There is no fee for current Chamber members to participate and all local businesses are encouraged to participate by having specials, handing out door prizes, or anything you want.
Anyone who wishes to participate as a vendor can contact Brenda Niemeyer at Jared’s Jams (660)341-0358 in Edina or Julie Reavis (417)297-2003 in Memphis. The deadline to sign up to be a vendor during this event is October 13.
Also on November 1, the Knox County Nutrition Site will host the annual meal fundraiser and a potential activity.
At the end of November, on Saturday, November 29, Santa will make his annual appearance on the Edina Town Square to visit with local children. The Magic Tree lighting will also be held the same evening, along with family activities including cookie decorating.
