November 1, 2025 | Vandalia, MO – Knox County’s cross country team made the most of their time on the course Saturday at the MSHSAA Class 1 – District 3 meet in Vandalia, with one standout performance earning a trip to Columbia for next week’s state championships. Grayson Miller led the Eagles with a 17th-place finish in 18:48.93, comfortably securing his spot among the top 30 state qualifiers.
Miller ran a composed and tactical race, settling into the lead group early and holding steady through the final mile. His strong finish capped off a season of steady improvement and sets him up for a well-deserved appearance at the Class 1 State Championships on November 8 at Gans Creek in Columbia.
Behind Miller, Ruah Park finished 52nd in 21:21.11, followed by Patrick Clark in 55th with a time of 21:44.42. Anthony Bruegenhemke (77th, 23:49.19) and Logan Wriedt (83rd, 25:29.81) rounded out the Knox County boys’ lineup, each putting in a strong effort over the rolling 5K course.
In the girls’ race, Lexi Cahalan represented Knox County with determination, finishing 61st in 33:14.04. Despite the tough competition and challenging conditions, she pushed through the course and closed her season with a strong finish.
