Aponte Begins Child Support Enforcement Role

By Echo Menges

EDINA, Mo. — The Knox County Prosecutor’s Office has welcomed a new staffer, with Caleb Aponte beginning his role April 10, 2026, as child support enforcement attorney serving Missouri’s 1st and 2nd judicial circuits. The position also brings the relocation of the child support enforcement office from Adair County to Knox County. Aponte has joined Knox County Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Boster and Administrative Assistant Angela Wilson.

Aponte will serve the 1st Judicial Circuit (Clark, Schuyler and Scotland counties) and the 2nd Judicial Circuit (Adair, Knox and Lewis counties). He will work out of the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office in Edina, with a schedule that includes both remote work and in-office availability several days each month.

The position focuses on establishing, modifying and enforcing child support orders across the six-county region. In that role, Aponte represents the state in court proceedings related to child support enforcement, including cases involving delinquent payments.

Child support enforcement in Missouri is handled through a partnership between the Missouri Family Support Division and the courts. The division manages cases and determines when enforcement action is needed.

Attorneys assigned to judicial circuits represent the state in court to establish, modify or enforce support orders. Those cases can include actions against parents who have fallen behind on payments and may result in wage garnishment, license suspension and contempt proceedings.

The relocation of the child support enforcement office from Adair County to Knox County centralizes services for the region and aligns the enforcement role more closely with local court operations across both circuits.

Aponte previously served as an assistant attorney general with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, where he worked in consumer protection and public safety. He also served as a special assistant U.S. attorney in Kansas City as part of a violent crime initiative, and has experience in both private practice and nonprofit legal work. He currently serves as first assistant prosecuting attorney in Washington County.
