Knox County Has 12 Buses Approved, Two Placed Out of Service
EDINA — Knox County R-I had 12 of its 17 buses approved during the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 2026 annual school bus inspection program.
According to the Patrol’s report, 70.6 percent of Knox County’s buses were approved during the initial inspection. Three buses, or 17.6 percent, were listed as defective, while two buses, or 11.8 percent, were placed out of service.
Buses with defective components must be repaired within 10 days. Buses placed out of service require correction of the component or components, reinspection and approval by Patrol personnel before they can be used to transport passengers.
The Patrol said more than 11,000 buses were inspected statewide as part of the annual program. Statewide, 10,239 buses were approved on initial inspection, 849 were rated defective and 283 were placed out of service.
