Knox County (2-2) forged a 13 point halftime lead over Scotland County in the December 6, 2024 Tri-Rivers Classic girls third place game. The Lady Eagles held off a second half Lady Tiger rally for a 40-37 victory.
Knox County jumped out to a 13-8 first quarter lead. The Lady Eagles took the ball to the rim, outscoring Scotland County by a 14-6 margin in the second quarter for the 13 point halftime lead.
Scotland County pressured the Lady Eagles into second half turnovers. The Lady Tigers edged closer in the third quarter for a 37-26 Eagle edge. Charlee Holland brought Scotland County within a 37-33 score with a steal and score at the 3:09 mark of the fourth quarter.
Kennedy Parrish scored with 1:55 to play in the game for a 39-33 KCHS lead. Kwyn Hamlin completed a three point play for a 39-36 tally at the 58 second mark of the fourth quarter.
Kennedy Parrish sank a Knox County free throw with 6.8 seconds remaining for the 40- 37 Lady Eagle win. Kennedy Parrish scored a game high 19 Knox County points. Adison Strong was the next KC high point person with nine points. Strong was named to the girls All- Tournament team.
Myleigh Miller scored six KC points. Hannah Parsons scored three and Kalli Parrish added two Knox County points.
Kwyn Hamlin led the Lady Tigers with 18 points. Hamlin was named to the girls All- Tournament Team from Scotland County. Charlee Holland added seven Lady Tiger points.
