 RICHARD CECIL JONES-HAYDEN 

Richard Hayden, 84 of Bridger, Montana, passed away in Billings, Montana, on January 16, 2024, from medical complications. 

Born to Blanch and Don Jones on May 30, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was adopted by his Aunt Nina and Uncle Ralph Hayden of Edina, Missouri, in 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. 

Survived by wife, Larrie Lee Hayden. Sister, Marge McCalla 100 of IL. Son, Richard Hayden JR. Stepkids, Larrie Mae Erwin of TX and Kenneth Jahde of IL. Granddaughter, Lilyona Hayden. And a multitude of nieces and nephews. 

Raised in Edina, MO. After graduating from Edina High School Richard joined the Navy in 1955 – 1969, where he served four tours in Vietnam and received several accommodations and awards. He was also a WelterWeight boxer in the Navy. 

He baked for President John F. Kennedy on one of the Navy ships. Also baked for Queen Elizabeth and met several other celebrities. He also loved to bake goodies for any neighbors he had. 

After leaving the Navy he was a Chef for several restaurants for his career. He retired in 1998 at age 60 due to medical issues. 

Richard enjoyed life to the fullest. He spent many hours hunting, fishing, and watching for bears in any mountains he found himself in. 

Richard knew no stranger and could find a friend everywhere he went. 

Richard attended the Clarks Fork Baptist Church of Bridger, Montana, and First Christian Church in Edina, Missouri. 

Cremation took place in January of 2024 and ashes will be spread in the mountains he loved in Montana.
