Community Invited to Ugly Sweater Christmas Gala on Dec. 14
By Echo Menges
The Knox County Community Center will host its annual Ugly Sweater Gala on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m., offering the community a chance to enjoy holiday cheer, food and festivities with friends and neighbors.
The event, titled “Christmas at the Knox County Community Center: Ugly Sweater Gala,” will feature live music, a freewill donation meal, and a lighthearted ugly sweater contest. Organizers say the evening is meant to bring the community together in the spirit of the season.
One of the highlights of the evening will be the presentation of the Business Tree Decorating Contest winner — a friendly competition among local businesses to show off their best holiday tree-decorating skills.
The event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome, and attendees are encouraged to wear their most festive and outrageous holiday sweaters.
A meal will be served during the gala, and donations are appreciated but not required. Proceeds from the meal and event will support future programming and improvements at the community center.
The Knox County Community Center is located at 207 N. Fourth Street in Edina.
