Janice Kay Browning, age 74, of Knox City, Missouri, passed away Monday May 25, 2026.

In 1980, she was united in marriage to Sandy Gene Browning in Knox City, Missouri, and to this union, Rex Dean was born.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brothers, David and Daniel Postal; her daughter, Michelle Reardon; grandson, Gabriel Totsch; and her mother and father in-law, Rex Damond and Thelma Lucille Browning.

She is survived by her husband, Sandy, four children, Robbie (Jennifer) Totsch, Michael (Tammie) Totsch, Jason Totsch and Rex (Morgan) Browning. Grandchildren, Wesley (Jessica) Totsch, Ashley Totsch, Rob Totsch, Colton Totsch, Dalton Totsch, Whitney Reardon, Sidney Reardon, Riley Reardon, John Totsch, Brittany (Jared) Lonely, Hillary Dowell, J’sila Totsch, Nyla Totsch, Mckenna Browning, Mckenna Reynolds, and James Rhylen Marra. As the kids grew Janice loved going to all the baseball games, (she was very vocal) and any school activities, for several years she stayed busy mowing several yards in town, she was a Girl Scout leader for a time, loved bowling and worked part time at the bowling alley across the street. She continued to mow her yard up to a few years ago even though doing so caused her a lot of pain as she had years earlier broken her back trying to pick up the rider after getting it stuck in a rut in the alley (she thought she could do anything). She loved playing bingo whenever possible.

Janice was a member of the Knox City Christian Church where she served as Sunday school secretary for a number of years, she was a two-time cancer survivor having fought kidney cancer for nine years and winning the race just six months ago. Although she won this fight, she had many other health issues over the years that took a toll on her body. She loved collecting angel figurines, it didn’t matter what kind, from candle holders to book-ends, to big lighted fiber optic ones, if it looked like an angel she wanted it, (there are a LOT of angels in the house). Janice loved talking, teasing and joking with people. She served on the Knox County Promotional Council helping put on the Corn Festival for nine years. As the years passed and her body failed, she put on a good front to hide it the best she could, (she was very strong willed – and stubborn). But the two things she enjoyed the most was spending time with family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren (she was so looking forward to seeing the fourth coming two new great grandchildren) and riding the trike with her husband, from short twenty-mile rides to one day five-hundred-mile road trips to multi day vacations which would cause her severe back pain, but it didn’t matter, she was always ready to go.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 28th in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Musical selections will be What a Day That Will Be and Holding On.
