BETTY JEAN EWALT
Betty Jean Ewalt, 90, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Hospice of the Valley Lund Home in Gilbert, Arizona.
Betty was born on February 8, 1936, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Austin Herbert and Mandy Estella Dial Weems in Salem, Illinois.
Betty attended grade school in Ewing, Missouri, later graduating from Ewing High School in the class of 1954.
Betty was joined into marriage to Garland Francis, “Bud” Ewalt on October 31, 1959, in Quincy, Illinois.
Betty spent her early days of employment working at Motorola in both Quincy, Illinois as well as Scottsdale, Arizona. She was an electronics buyer at Broadcast Electronics in Quincy, as well as Covid Electric in Tempe, Arizona. When she retired, she was back at Motorola working in Manufacture Purchasing.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Brenda Griffith, of Queen Creek, Arizona; a son, Brad (Mary) Ewalt, of Chandler, Arizona; one sister-in-law, Darlene (Ray) Weems, of Quincy, Illinois; and a grandson, Nicholas Adcock of Queen Creek, Arizona.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Mandy Dial Weems; her husband, Garland “Bud” Ewalt; three brothers, James Weems and wife Vera, Herschel Weems and wife Mary, and Ray Weems; along with two sisters, Ann Weems, and Sherla and Bert Johnston.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Colony Cemetery in Colony, Missouri.
