Lewis County Courthouse Marks 150 Years
Submitted by Judge Corey Moon LEWIS COUNTY, Mo. – On Oct. 23, 2025, Lewis County celebrated the sesquicentennial— 150th anniversary—of the construction of its courthouse. The public was invited to have lunch and see the recent renovations to the courtroom, including new carpeting; reupholstered and refurbished chairs behind the bench; a new benchtop; fresh paint; and new ceiling tiles. These improvements were badly needed and were supported by Lewis County commissioners Fid Murphy, Travis Fleer and Craig Redmon. Sixty-nine guests signed the guest book. The break occurred at approximately 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of North Main and East Marion streets during underground fiber-optic line installation by Sellenriek Construction, the company contracted to install fiber lines throughout Edina for Mark Twain Communications over the next year.
