Applications for Missouri Century Farms open Feb. 1
COLUMBIA, Mo. – If your farm has been in your family since Dec. 31, 1926, you can apply to have it recognized as a Missouri Century Farm. The University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, MU Extension Ag and Environment team and Missouri Farm Bureau sponsor the program. Applications to be recognized as a 2026 Missouri Century Farm open Feb. 1. Deadline is May 1. To qualify, the same family must have owned the farm for 100 consecutive years. The Lady Panthers did their best to avenge a December 12, 2025 loss in the girls’ championship game of the Monroe City Tournament. Monroe City led 10-7 after the first quarter and 17-16 at halftime. Highland made halftime adjustments and outscored the Lady Panthers 13-7 in the third quarter for a 29- 24 lead. Highland won going away, closing on a 20-2 run to a 49-26 win. The council met in closed session Tuesday, Jan. 20, to interview the applicant and offer the job. According to Edina Mayor Linda Kerr, the decision to hire was unanimous. City Clerk Margaret Gibson said David Dudley, who was offered the job the following morning, accepted the position the same day.
