Edina Man Arrested for Drug Possession

Robert Ward, 39, of Edina was arrested on Friday, January 25, 2019, by the Edina Police Department for allegedly being in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine.

Ward was stopped for failing to stop at a stop sign at approximately 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of Lafayette and First Streets in Edina.

Further investigation revealed the controlled substances, according to Edina Police Chief Ryan Bishop.

Ward is being held at the Adair County Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond. He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.

“Additional charges are pending,” said Chief Bishop.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
