Brashear Wins Conference Baseball Game With Atlanta

The lower portion of the Brashear lineup came through in September 22, 2020 conference softball play with Atlanta. Four Tigers had two hits each in a 12-0 Brashear win in five innings.
Garrett Housman went the five inning distance on the mound, striking out six Hornet batters on two hits with three walks. Atlanta threatened in the top of the first inning. Landon Gilland led off the game with a hit. Gilland reached third base but could not score.
Jace Snelling singled in the first inning. Snelling was forced at second base for the second out. The game was scoreless after one inning of play.
Austin Peterson got the Tigers on the board with a home run over the fence leading off the second inning. Avery Zentz doubled. Jack Reeves drove in a sun with a hit. Brashear led 3-0 after two innings of play.
Brandon Jochimsen doubled in the Tiger third but did not score. Atlanta had two men on base in the top of the third inning but failed to score. Brashear led 3-0 after three full innings.
The Tigers solved Atlanta hurler Dalton Teter for a nine run, six hit fourth inning. Alex Houghton had two RBI hits in the same inning. The first was an RBI single and the next safety was a two run double.
A two run error aided the Tiger cause. Avery Zentz slashed a two RBI double. Brashear increased their lead to 12-0 entering the top of the fifth inning. Landon Gilland drew a one out walk. An error put Hornets on first and second base.
A fly ball to Brandon Jochimsen at short and a grounder to short ended the game by the ten run rule. Brashear won their first conference game of the season by a 12-0 margin in five innings.
Atlanta was blanked on two hits with five men left on base. Dalton Teter went three and two thirds innings with one strikeout and a walk on 11 hits. Bryce Teter pitched the final third of an inning for Atlanta.
Brashear (1-2) scored 12 runs on 11 hits. Brandon Jochimsen went 2-3 at bat with a run scored. Avery Zentz was 2-3 with two runs scored and two batted in. Jack Reeves was 2-2 with three runs scored and an RBI. Alex Houghton was 2-2 with a run scored and three batted in.
