Knox County (6-4, 3-1) got their offense rolling with a six run second inning in April 19, 2021 conference baseball at New Franklin High School and rolled to a 19-0 win over Fayette. The Eagles saw Blake Parrish and Kellen Parrish combine on a four inning one hitter.
Blake Parrish tossed the first three innings for the victory. Blake Parrish struck out five with no walks on one hit. Kellen Parrish finished up, striking out the side in the bottom of the fourth inning.
After a scoreless first inning, Knox County sent 11 batters to the plate, scoring six runs in the top of the second inning. Braxton McCurren led off with a base hit. Braydon Miller doubled McCurren home with the game’s first run.
Branson Miller and Nick Hamlin followed with hits. Isaac McCurren lashed the first of three Knox County hits. Rylan Roberts walked. Braxton McCurren pulled off the feat of having two base hits in the same inning.
The Eagles put five more runs on the board in the third inning. Braxton McCurren highlighted the uprising with an RBI double. Knox County sent ten men to the plate in their third inning. The Eagles led by an 11-0 margin.
Joey Davis and Holden Goucher came off the bench and walked leading off the fourth inning. Both runners scored. Rylan Roberts tripled in two runs. Roberts later scored on an error. Reice Miller singled and scored.
Joey Davis singled. Holden Goucher reached base on an error. Kellen Parrish collected a base hit. The Falcons finally put out the fire with a pop up to shortstop.
Fayette (2-7, 0-3) was blanked on one hit and four errors. Chris Brown had the lone Falcon hit in the first inning. Brown drew a fourth inning walk. Chris Brown was the only Fayette player to reach base.
Haden Kelly pitched the first 2 1/3 innings and took the loss. Kelly allowed ten earned runs on ten hits. Kelly struck out one and walked two. Dalton Collins tossed 2/3 of an inning. Collins struck out one batter with three walks and three runs on one hit.
Jordan Ebbesmeyer pitched one inning for Fayette. Ebbesmeyer allowed six runs on six hits, three earned.
Knox County scored 19 runs on 17 hits and no errors. Conner Hayes was 2-4 with two runs scored and two batted in. Isaac McCurren went 3-5 at bat with two runs scored and four driven in.
Rylan Roberts was 2-3 with a pair of runs scored and two more batted in. Braxton McCurren was 3-3 with two runs scored and three batted in. Branson Miller went 2-2 with two runs scored and another batted in.
