Lady Eagles Take Louisiana Tournament Consolation

Eighth seeded Knox County won the consolation championship of the Louisiana Bulldog Invitational Softball Tournament on September 25, 2021 by a 13-0 final score in six innings.
Agnes Reel and Daniela Dooley combined for a six inning no hitter. Daniela Dooley, Shalee Zuccarini and Baila Miller had three hits each. Taylor Walker went 4-4 with three runs scored. Jennifer Hinkle, Bryston Miller and Agnes Reel had two KCHS hits each.
”I think that was by far one of our best games,” Knox County coach Lauren Dale said. “We had some good outfield catches. Our pitchers threw the ball well. The girls were dialed in well all day.”
“We got a good momentum shift. We continued to tack the runs on,” Lauren Dale said. ”It was a fun day for the girls to compete in. Mark Twain is a good team. They had a chance to get a quality win.”
“The girls rose up to the challenge. Being the eighth seed, they had a little bit they wanted to prove,” Coach Dale said. “I think they did that. It was a good opportunity for us to make a statement.”
Daniela Dooley walked with one out in the Knox County first inning. Brianna Miller and Taylor Walker singled to fill the bases. Bryston Miller drew an RBI walk from Tiger pitcher Bronwyn Harding.
Shalee Zuccarini doubled in two runs for a 3-0 Lady Eagle lead after one inning of play. Daniela Dooley doubled Jen Hinkle home in the second inning. Baila Miller drove in another run. Knox County led 5-0 after two full innings.
Abby Becker singled leading off the Lady Eagle third inning. Jen Hinkle delivered a two out RBI double, scoring Becker for a 6-0 lead.
The first two Lady Eagles reached base in the top of the fourth inning. Brianna Miller singled followed by Taylor Walker doubling the runners to second and third base with none out. Bryston Miller and Baila Miller drove in a run each for an 8-0 lead after four innings.
Daniela Dooley tripled Jen Hinkle home for a 9-0 lead after five innings. Taylor Walker doubled leading off the Knox County sixth inning. Shalee Zuccarini singled home another run for a 10-0 lead.
Agnes Reel doubled in another run with two out in the sixth inning. Shalee Zuccarini and Agnes Reel scored for a 13-0 lead. A ground out back to the circle completed the combined no hit pitching effort.
Knox County scored 13 runs on a season high 20 hits. Agnes Reel pitched four innings of with a strikeout and two walks. Daniela Dooley tossed the final two innings with two strikeouts and a walk.
Bronwyn Harding pitched the six inning distance for the Lady Tigers. Harding struck out seven batters with four walks.
