CAROL YVONNE “SUSIE” BAKER
Carol Yvonne “Susie” Baker, of Shelbyville, Missouri, formerly of Plevna, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home on December 29, 2025.
Carol was born on July 08, 1941, in Bethel, Missouri, the daughter of Melvin Logan and Irene Purvis. She was united in marriage to Billy Floyd Baker on November 15, 1957, in Shelbyville, Mo., they celebrated 65 years of marriage.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Baker of Bethel, Sherrie Parsons (Lindell) of Shelbyville, Lori Washburn (Paul) of Lewistown, Mo., and Twilla See (Allan) of Colony, Mo.; as well as eight grandchildren, Chris Parsons (Sarah), Jonathan Parsons (Michelle), Camil McCoy (Ryan), Chase Parsons (Skylar), Candice Nahler (Landon), Billie Washburn, Maggie Brenizer (Nick), and Emily Stark (Aaron); 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Joann Turner of Overland Park, Kan.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a grandson Brian Parsons.
Carol attended the Shelbyville Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, making quilts, and embroidering. She loved playing dominoes and going to eat at Bub’s with her friends. Carol was a proud mother and grandmother that loved supporting her children and grandchildren at their activities, events, and games.
A visitation was held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Greening- Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Mo. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in Bethel.
