Knox County Boys Win Nailbiter at Brashear

Knox County and Brashear (7-11) put on a closely played, hard fought non-conference boys basketball game at Brashear on February 3, 2026. The back and forth margin usually sat at two or three points.
Knox County outscored the Tigers 13-10 in the fourth quarter. Each team scored in the closing seconds. Isaac Shahan scored the game winning points for Knox County with 14 seconds to play in the game.
The Eagles (8-10) escaped with a 53-52 win. Cole Erwin sank a driving layup for Brashear for a 52-51 lead at the 34 second mark of the fourth quarter. The Tigers missed three ball for the win at the buzzer.
Brashear ran the court and put up a 13-4 run to a 24-28 lead in the second quarter. Noah Shannon sank a Tiger three for a 27-22 Brashear lead with 4:30 to play in the second quarter.
The score was tied at 31 after two quarters. Neither team shot free throws well Knox County was 2-8 from the line. Brashear sank four of 12 chances at the free throw line. The contest was as dead even as any in the area.
Carrsen Hayes scored 20 Knox County points. Isaac Shahan put in 16 points. Cooper Clair scored eight KCHS points. Levi Clark scored 23 Brashear points. Cole Erwin scored 12 points. Kienii Scott scored 11 for Brashear.
