EDINA, Mo. — October 17, 2025 – A review of public 911 call data from the past three weeks shows that half of all law enforcement responses in Knox County occurred within the city limits of Edina, which is disproportionately high. Between Sept. 26 and Oct. 16, 2025, dispatchers logged 65 law enforcement calls countywide. Of those, 33 originated in Edina, while the remaining 32 were spread across rural areas and smaller towns including Knox City, Hurdland, Baring, and unincorporated communities.
According to the data, most calls countywide were categorized as “Request Officer” or “Request for Information,” accounting for just over half of all reports. Domestic disturbances made up nearly one in five calls, followed by traffic accidents and careless or imprudent driving complaints.
Within Edina, 55 percent of calls fell into the “Request/Info” category, followed by seven domestic disturbances and a small number of alarms, suspicious-person, and burglary reports. Outside the city, most calls involved traffic and roadway incidents, including five accidents and four driving complaints.

Countywide Overview
The data indicates that Edina continues to represent the majority of Knox County’s police workload, particularly for interpersonal or service-based incidents. Rural and unincorporated areas see fewer but more travel-related responses.
The 21-day sample underscores how the county’s limited law enforcement resources are distributed: while the sheriff’s office handles most rural calls, Edina’s share of total activity suggests continued demand for city-level coverage despite ongoing staffing shortages.
