Knox County’s Miller Finishes 64th at State Meet
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Knox County’s Grayson Miller capped off an impressive cross country season with a strong showing at the MSHSAA Class 1 State Championships, held Nov. 7–8 at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia. Competing among Missouri’s top Class 1 runners, Miller crossed the finish line in 18:24.1, earning 64th place overall in a deep field of more than 170 runners. The sophomore represented Knox County as the Eagles’ lone state qualifier after advancing through district competition in Vandalia. Macy Hamlin, Jackson Putnam and Denton Daggs were awarded the American FFA Degree at the National FFA Convention. The American Degree is the highest award an FFA member can receive, and it is awarded to less than 1% of FFA members nationwide. The American Degree requires 4-5 years of work within a Supervised Agriculture Experience, leadership development, community service and course work in agriculture education. The 2023 audit, released Nov. 3 by State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick, found the county’s books accurate and properly maintained.
